Upon their request, a group of parents came together for an Advocacy training facilitated by "The Other Way" in order to learn how to better advocate for their children and themselves in the local schools.
Due to the relational nature of our ministry, staff will occassionally find themselves advocating for an individual or family on a more personal level. This could mean simply referring the person to a partner organization or working alongside of them to accomplish their goals.
Advocacy
For 41 years, "The Other Way" Ministries has been serving God in the Westown community. As a respected agency in our neighborhood and throughout Grand Rapids, we have the opportunity to listen to our neighbors and then advocate on their behalf.
Staff members regularly represent our neighbors by attending events and meetings that impact our community. In fact, the West Fulton Business Association and West Grand Rapids Planning Committee hold many of their meetings in our Activity Center.
