A Christian ministry that walks alongside Westown urban families as they strive to grow spiritually, relationally and economically.

about us

Established in 1967, "The Other Way" Ministries is a Grand Rapids, Michigan, West side urban outreach committed to Christian community development. We refer to our neighborhood as Westown.

Our strategic focus is Family Development: Developing stronger, Christ-centered families.

At the heart of family development programming is the goal of creating Christ-centered, sustainable change in Westown families. As always, we hope to accomplish this through mutual relationships with our neighbors and building on their assets and strengths.

Vision Statement

We envision a community where Westown neighbors value people of all ages, races, and cultures. We see a place where Christ-centered leadership skills are applied to affirm strengths, meet needs, and foster sustainable change through strong Christian families. We believe the foundation of strong families begins with the cornerstones of spiritual, relational, and economic growth.
